The Freehand tool allows for a quick and easy placement of multiple identical items across a given area. Here are the steps on how to use it.
1. In the Plan view of the design, select from the Catalogue Items palette the item required to be drawn into the room in succession.
2. From the Insert tab of the 2020 Fusion ribbon, select the Freehand tool.
3. With the mouse, click once on the starting point of where the items should be drawn in from and move the mouse pointer along to where the units should be drawn to. When at the desired endpoint (the "to" point), click the mouse again. This process will have drawn in several identical units along the path the mouse traveled from click to click.
Activating the Single Line function
In previous versions of 2020 Fusion designers would have a separate button for the Single Line tool. Now it has been integrated within the Freehand tool.
Activating it requires simply selecting the Freehand tool and then double-clicking with the mouse where the start point of the single line will start, followed by a single click on the point where it should finish. The following will display in the ribbon when done successfully.
Activating the Poly Add function
Just like the Single Line tool, there was a separate button for the Poly Add tool in the previous version. This too has become integrated within the Freehand tool. Activating it requires simply selecting the Freehand tool and then a single click where the start point is, followed by either clicking once or double-clicking to change the direction of the drawn units.
