When used efficiently, item snapping in 2020 Fusion can save the designer a lot of valuable time. Here are a few explanations of the available snapping features.
In the Home portion of the ribbon, we have the Snapping drop-down menu. Clicking on Snapping provides four choices as well as an option to toggle on or off indicators.
Snap to Grid = Permits the items to be snapped to a specific line of the enabled grid.
Snap to Wall = Permits the items to be snapped to any of the walls within the plan.
Snap to Item = Permits the item to be snapped to other items within the plan. For example, snapping an oven to an oven housing unit or several base units together to form an island.
Before snapping to an item
After snapping to an item
Snap to Item Orientation = Permits the item to be snapped and aligned using the item and plan directional orientation.
Snapping Indicators = Permits the graphical snapping to either display or hide indicators when performing a shift or movement of the items within the plan.
All choices can be enabled or disabled.
