Something happened to my database, and I need to use a backup. How do I do that?
Before you proceed
Before you proceed, make sure that you have closed all 2020-related programs on your computer.
Solution
- Right click on 2020 Fusion’s shortcut, and select Open File Location.
- Run DisplayFileLocator.exe
- Scroll down until you find Master.Connect
- Click once on Master.Connect, inside DisplayFileLocator.exe
- This will open a Windows Explorer window at the correct location for you.
- Locate Master.Connect and rename it to something else, such as “RealMaster.Connect”
- In that same location is a folder called Backup Database.
- Select the most recent version of your database (or one of your own choosing), and right click it.
- Select Copy.
- Return to the folder that contains “RealMaster.Connect” from step number 6.
- Right click that folder.
- Select Paste.
- You must now rename your backup database file to Master.Connect
Tip: If you are recovering a database that was last used in a previous version of 2020 Fusion, it is possible that you might have to use the DatabaseUtilityTool in it before being able to successfully start your version of 2020 Fusion with it.
