In 2020 Fusion version 9.2 onwards, it will be possible to extract contacts and designs (.ROM files) out of 2020 Fusion and import them into Winner Flex. Once imported it will then be possible to open the designs in 2020 Fusion via the Winner Flex platform.
Export Contacts and Designs from 2020 Fusion
1. Find the file location for 2020 Fusion by right-clicking on the 2020 Fusion icon and selecting Open file location.
2. Within the same folder, double-click on the DatabaseUtilityTool.exe to open the Maintenance Options dialog.
3. Select the option Extract Customers and this will export the entire customer database from 2020 Fusion.
If you also decide to extract designs (.ROM) files you need to select the box Include designs created since and enter a date range for the designs.
NOTE!: It is possible to perform this action on multiple occasions. For example, initially extract contacts only and then at a later date extract contacts and designs.
4. Once you have selected your options click OK.
5. You will see the progress of the extraction in the window.
NOTE!: If an extraction has been performed previously then the user will be warned with a pop-up, click Yes to proceed and No to abort.
6. Once the extraction is complete the Zip file will be stored in a fixed location in the Master Storage Path (it will not be possible to configure or choose an alternative location). To open the location of the Zip file, click OK on the Extract Customers dialog box.
7. The folder containing the Zip file will open in a new window and is ready to be imported into Flex.
Import 2020 Fusion Contacts and Designs into Flex
1. Go to the Flex Platform at: https://flex.compusoftgroup.com
2. Select the cog and go to the Admin area Company Settings Shops
3. Select the shop you want to import into and select the Contacts import in the top toolbar.
4. When prompted with the below dialog box, click the arrow icon and browse to the Zip file, that you created earlier in the 2020 Fusion program.
5. Click Upload.
6. The Zip file will now be uploaded to the Flex platform. You will see a progress bar on the lower right corner of your screen.
NOTE!: You must wait until the upload is completed before leaving the page. You can start multiple uploads at the same time. All active processes are visible as shown below:
7. When the import process is complete the Zip files will automatically be extracted and will run in the background.
8. Select View report to see the number of imported contacts and verify that there were not any issues.
NOTE!: Flex will detect duplications of contacts and documents and will flag that in the report.
Open 2020 Fusion Designs from Flex in a Read-Only Mode
It is possible to open a 2020 Fusion design file, from the Flex platform, in a read-only mode:
1. Open the Flex platform and select the Contacts tab.
2. Click to select the contact required.
3. Click the Documents tab.
4. Select the file in the document list and then click Open on the toolbar.
NOTE!: To use the Read-Only mode of 2020 Fusion you must keep the 2020 Fusion installation on that PC as it was when used to export the data.
5. When the Fusion design is opened, the end-user will be informed via a banner that they are operating in read-only mode and all design editing capabilities are disabled.
NOTE!: Activities such as rendering, printing and exporting will remain possible.
