When planning a design, you will encounter occasions where the required annotations will not fit within the available space. The solution to this is to move the annotations away and insert a line from the annotation.
1. In your design, add your required user annotation by going to the Annotate tab and clicking 'New' in the ribbon.
2. With the annotation positioned in the required position in the design and highlighted, press and hold the Ctrl key and left-click the mouse to activate the line drawing tool. Now move the mouse cursor to the position you wish the line to end. Like with the multi-line tool, a single-click will create a point and the line direction can be changed. Double-clicking will end the line.
In 2020 Fusion v7, the line will now adopt the font colour even when a custom font colour is selected There is a choice of different line end styles.
You select this when generating your annotation as below.
In Version 8 of Fusion you have the ability to add multiple lines from a single annotation
To achieve this, the method is the same as step 2 in this article, but now it can be done multiple times to achieve something like the below:
