Creating a Block Catalogue
The reason to create a block catalogue is to enable the ability to apply block pricing within your 2020 Fusion designs. Not all catalogues or manufacturers
will support block pricing but in this article we will use Nobilia as a example.
How to create a block catalogue
A block catalogue is essentially a Child catalogue which we link to a Parent catalogue, in this example the Parent catalogue is Nobilia.
Before you can proceed with creating your block catalogue, please contact the Manufacturer to obtain the Block IDM Data, once you have this data you can move onto the next step.
To create a block catalogue for (e.g. for Nobilia) Please follow these steps:
- Within 2020 Fusion go to File Manage Catalogues
- Click on Create Catalogue
- Name your block catalogue (e.g. Noblia Blocks)
- Set catalogue type: Child
- Assign a parent catalogue. Nobilia (in this case)
- Click OK
- Within the Manage Catalogues, select the newly created block catalogue and click Check Out Catalogue from the menu on the right hand side
- Click on Launch Catalogue Administrator
- Select the catalogue you literally just checked out
- Click File Import IDM Browse and select either the KBZ.zip or the ArtNr.zip (this is the information that manufacturer would of provided you with). This can take some time to process but after a short while the data will appear the below:
- Please Close Catalogue Admin
- Select the block catalogue and click Check In catalogue
- Click OK to exit the Manage Catalogue window
Please note, now when you start a new design you simply select the Parent catalogue, in this case Nobilia and the block catalogue will automatically be linked.
