The Layers option can be used to hide or show multiple items by their category.
1. To hide items by their category, go to View Layers deselect the Item Category [e.g., walls].
[This will hide all items falling within the "Walls" Category]
2. To show the hidden layer [Walls] again, go to View Layers select the Item Category.
[This will show all items falling within the "Walls" Category]
Please beware that if you hide or show a layer in a main named view, this could potentially affect the state of the layer in another named view if the layer settings are shared across named view

Quick Tip: To select/deselect multiple item categories, press the CTRL key on your keyboard and left click on the desired item categories.
